Anticipating global consumer trends, ALVIVA GROUP, a leading player in Ukraine’s food industry, is making a strategic breakthrough into the FLATBREAD category — thin flatbreads that are rapidly gaining popularity worldwide. The Group is expanding the KYIV BREAD brand portfolio with three new flatbread product lines: Tia Tortilla tortillas, Takolini mini lavash breads, and Doner King lavash breads.
Global forecasts to 2031 suggest that the flatbread category will grow by more than 50%, continuing its strong upward trend. As consumers seek new culinary experiences, demand for ethnic flatbreads — such as Mexican tacos, Greek pita, Indian roti, Spanish tortilla, and Italian piadina — is increasing rapidly. Flatbread is becoming the base for new culinary formats and significantly expanding supermarket product assortments, serving a broad consumer base.
“We live in an era of multicultural integration that continues to intensify each year. Understanding this, ALVIVA GROUP aims to lead transformations in the bakery and confectionery segments, shaping a new consumption culture for the NEXT generation,” comments Dmytro Danylovych, CMO of ALVIVA GROUP. “To remain a leader in Ukraine’s bakery market, it is no longer enough just to bake bread. We must anticipate and shape trends, creating new markets before consumer demand even emerges.”
Production of the flatbread category lines takes place at the facilities of LLC “Ukrainian Bakery House” in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. The new production line has a potential capacity of over 500,000 units per month. As of today, the line is already more than 50% utilized, with a planned ramp-up to full capacity by the end of 2025.
The KYIV BREAD flatbread lineup includes:
Tia Tortilla — Grano Spanish, Grano Olive — for breakfasts, toasts, and pizza;
Takolini — Basilico, Integral, Mexi, Tomatti, Cheesy — mini lavash breads for gastronomic experimentation in South American and Mediterranean styles;
Doner King XXL — lavash for large shawarma, kebab, or barbecue — professional-grade quality for both HORECA and home use.
These ethnic flatbread lines continue the Group’s tradition, launched in 2024, of introducing consumers to the taste profiles, production technologies, culinary culture, and history of bakery products from around the world. This approach has transformed bread from an everyday staple into a product of creativity, self-expression, and gastronomic inspiration.
The new flatbread products from the KYIV BREAD brand are already available in national retail chains: Fora, Silpo, Auchan, VARUS, and others.
