Kyiv, Ukraine – September 30, 2025 – Based on the results of the first 7 months of 2025, ALVIVA GROUP, together with the KИЇВХЛІБ brand, holds a leading position among bakery manufacturers in Ukraine. With a market share of 13%, the group is 4% ahead of its closest competitor. The average daily production of bakery products under the KИЇВХЛІБ brand amounts to 310–320 tons, while the total Ukrainian bakery market volume is approximately 2.45 million tons.
The leadership position in the local market has been maintained thanks to active regional expansion, the launch of new product lines, increased export potential, and investments in the modernization and automation of production capacities. The total investment in modernization and the launch of new production lines across 8 facilities in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Poltava region during 2024–2025 amounted to approximately UAH 400 million, significantly increasing the group’s production capacity. During this period, 2 new production lines were installed and launched, while another 2 are planned to be launched by the end of this year.
“Key to the sustainable development of ALVIVA GROUP is the automation of production capacities, further development of the agricultural direction, and building a stable presence in the importing countries of our finished products,” said Oleksandr VAVARKA, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ALVIVA GROUP. “Such an approach ensures a stable supply of high-quality raw materials, consistently high product quality, and strong relationships with international partners and counterparties. Over the next 5 years, we plan to further diversify the business and increase the export share to 20–25% of total production.”
Market trends
“Despite a 10%* decline in industrial bakery production in 2025, the projected capacity of the Ukrainian bakery market will reach UAH 33.6 billion by the end of the year, which is 15% more than in 2024,” comments Yurii Duchenko, First Vice President of the All-Ukrainian Bakers Association (VAP). “In the first seven months of 2025 alone, companies within VAP produced 207,000 tons of bakery products. The KИЇВХЛІБ brand accounts for 32.8% among VAP member manufacturers.”
According to VAP, there is also a trend toward increased consumption of simple-recipe bread and rye or rye-blend bread. In the first seven months of 2025, such bread accounted for 48.7% (compared to 43.68% in the same period of 2024), while wheat bread accounted for 51.3% (down from 56.3% in 2024).
Marketing as a driver of success
Despite the decline in industrial production, the group managed not only to maintain leadership but also to increase output in certain categories. Two new sandwich bread lines — British Sandwich and Norden Brod — were launched, the SUPER TOAST line was rebranded, and a new flatbread category under the KИЇВХЛІБ brand was introduced. This helped attract a younger audience and reshape the perception of bread as a category.
“Today, maintaining leadership in the bakery category under the KИЇВХЛІБ brand requires more than just baking and selling bread. It requires anticipating industry trends and proactively shaping them in Ukraine, creating the market long before consumer demand triggers industry response,” comments Dmytro DANYLOVYCH, CMO of ALVIVA GROUP.
Export focus
Ukrainian producers are actively increasing exports to foreign markets. Among the key drivers of Ukrainian exports are bakery and confectionery manufacturers, which in August 2025 showed a +40.09% increase with a total value of $33.77 million.
ALVIVA GROUP also contributes to the country’s export growth. In the first 7 months of 2025, over 2,000 tons of KИЇВХЛІБ bakery products were exported, which is 33% more than in the same period last year.
The brand’s products are exported to 30 countries worldwide, including ready-to-eat products, long-shelf-life goods, and frozen products, and are represented in European retail chains such as Lidl, Maxima, RIMI, Kaufland, Globus, NORFA, Żabka, Linella, No.1, Bonus, and others.
